Well-organized permalinks are important for both visitors and search engines to navigate and refer to your knowledge base content.

Therefore BasePress works with both default and pretty permalinks according to WordPress settings.
Read more on WordPress permalinks.

You can customize all permalink slugs since they use the knowledge base, section and article slugs. The knowledge base portion of the permalink comes from the entry page slug so changing this page slug will reflect on all permalinks.

Below are some permalinks examples:

Knowledge Base entry page
Product Page with sections listing
Section Page with articles listing
Article Permalink
Article Anchor
Article Pagination
Search Permalink

If you change the entry page slug, you need to navigate to the BasePress> Settings page and click on “Save Settings”. This will trigger WordPress to refresh the permalinks structure and avoid 404 pages. You can also change all other slugs at any time without breaking the site’s links. Similarly you can switch from default to pretty permalinks whenever you need.
